june release letter

We think seriously about White Wine. We wear this as a badge of honor. We investigate the boundaries of its territory; we go to new lands as if on holiday. We make white wine out of Sauvignon Blanc and use the skins and seeds. We sought out 140-year old Malvasia Nera—a really dark grape!—to make white wine because of its treasure chest of aromas, not its color. We haunt the lowlands of the Sacramento River delta because it contains a vineyard that grows Verdelho—Verdelho!!— that sets it very own standard for white wine and cheerfully confounds any attempt at comparison.

It is the season of white wine and that is what we are bottling. Today. This bottling is the culmination of one adventure and the extension of another. Our first vintage of RHODODACTYLOS (from the Malvasia Nera) and our fifth of NAUCRATIS (from the Verdelho). It goes almost without saying that we are very excited about these wines. I am announcing their release now.

The Rhododactylos will be available only to the mailing list; the Naucratis disappears quickly. You may read more about these wines here.

And if you are ready to purchase wines, please go directly here.
