The move
The Lanza family of Suisun Valley provided superb hospitality to the project for all of 2006. They opened their doors, made every aspect of their winery available to us, gave us help and advice day after day, and forgave our intrusions into the atmosphere their family had developed over three generations. We left this warm home in the middle of August, when the Tenbrinks finally had a roof and a cooling system that could accept our barrels. Over the course of a couple days, we moved everything out of Wooden Valley Winery and into the barren shell of Tenbrink. From the warmth and security of a winery that has succeeded for 3 generations, to a new building, experimental, designed by novices, staffed by the eager but untrained.
