welcome to the project!

It is exciting to write to you. I am very grateful for your interest.
I will tell you a little here, and then refer to you to the website for much more information about what we are doing.

The Scholium Project is a small winemaking team, working out of a beautiful family winery in Suisun Valley, in the midst of farm country, but not so far from the city. We work with small vineyards scattered around northern California, and we make a small amount of wine.

Some of you might have signed up hoping to buy some wine. I am grateful for that. I do save some of my annual production for the mailing list that you have signed up for. The members of the mailing list get the only shot at some of the tiny production wines (we bottled two different wines this year with quantities less than 20 cases) and first shot at all of the other wines. But I still conserve a substantial amount of the wine that we make for the retailers and the restaurants who have supported us from the beginning. For this reason, it is not possible to satisfy all of the interest that comes from private customers like you.

I am happy to say that I have been able to reserve some wine for those of you who have never purchased wine from us before. I have composed a selection of bottles from the new release and the two best wines from the last two releases. Together, these wines will give you an panoptic introduction to the Scholium Project. Nothing is omitted. Except perhaps the skin-fermented Pinot Grigios.

You are entitled to the INTRODUCTORY PACKAGE. At the moment that I am sending this, there are exactly 11 packages left.

The Scholium Project does not offer tours; there is no tasting room. But because of the late-Spring flush of interest, I decided to offer two tours of 20 people each in July. I announced these before you signed up for the mailing list.

But there have just been four cancellations for the tour tomorrow, Saturday July 19.

If you would like to join us at this late date, please RSVP to the tour director. It could be fun.

The tour will begin at 3.30 pm promptly (and end around 6 pm, based on last week's experience). If we can accomodate you, we will email you with a confirmation and directions.

I look forward to hearing from you.
